Am I obliged to buy if I have a free survey and quotation?

Absolutely not. Our initial visit to your home is purely to measure the room and leave you with a verbal quote. This free* service should take no longer than an hour. You will then receive (through the post or e-mail) a computer generated image of your room along with a written quotation for you to compare and consider at your leisure. 


We guarantee, No hard sell tactics - No silly 'half price offers' - No gimmicks - Just straight forward prices and advice. At no time will we ask you for an order, nor will we bother you with any follow up telephone calls. We firmly believe that if you like what you see, you will come back to us.

*A cup of coffee is your only outlay.

How long would I have to wait after placing my order until the furniture is fitted?

We tend to get very busy at certain times of the year, so as all of our furniture is made to order, our lead time can be anything between 6 and 12 weeks. Bedrooms are generally installed in 1 day - bigger rooms, 2 days at the most.


Can I fit the wardrobes myself?

Yes. We offer a trade priced, supply only service. If you can design and install youself, there are savings to be made. Bring some plans or sketches into the showroom and we will quote you, or call us for more information.

Please Note: We are unable to offer a home design service if you intend to fit the furniture yourself.

Do your wardrobes have backs?

You choose.... Most customers choosing hinged doors opt for a complete carcase construction with floors, tops and backs, but if you prefer, we can supply them as a front frame option, saving you money! 

Our sliding door range is generally supplied as front frame, but can be on a full carcase if required.

What is 'Essex Trading Standards Approved' ?

How and when do I pay?

A 20% deposit will secure your order (all major debit and credit cards accepted). The balance is not due until your bedroom has been completely installed to your satisfaction

How do your prices compare to the national companies?

Very favourably... We do not have the massive overheads of in-store or High Street showrooms and no huge advertising bills. As each enquiry is dealt with personally by the owners, there is no 'middle man' or salesman's commission to pay.


Are your bedrooms really made to measure?

Yes. We manufacture all of our own furniture and can produce any shape or size required.

Each piece of furniture is individually made in our own factory, to the exact dimensions specified for your room

How long have Designer Bedrooms been trading?

The company was formed in 1992, by Keith and Dawn Brown. Since starting, we have needed to move to larger premises, but are now firmly established in Wickford and have been trading from our factory and showroom in Robert Way for more than 20 years.

What areas to you cover?

We have no specific geographical boundaries, although we generally work in the Essex, North Kent and East London areas, or about a 30 miles radius of our factory. If you are not sure just give us a call....

How long is your guarantee?

We pride ourselves on our after sales service and offer a 10 year guarantee which covers any defect in our materials or workmanship. This guarantee does not include electrical and light fittings, general wear and tear, or any damage caused by misuse, neglect or mistreatment.


Where we cannot resolve any complaints using our own complaints procedure, as a Which? Trusted trader we use Dispute Resolution Ombudsman for dispute resolution.
